NCSTA 2006
November 9-10, 2006 in Greensboro, NC

Thank you to everyone who got up early to see my talk Friday morning and visit my booth at the share-a-thon! I had a great time visiting with all of you. Below are some resources and ideas to use with Crime Scene Science Fair Projects. Please email me if you have other suggestions or questions!

Fractography in the Classroom
Suggested by Deborah (sorry I lost your last name, email me and I will add it)
Instead of dropping weights on tiles, try a steel ball (or other sufficiently small, heavy object) on crunchy cookies. This will take up less space and the kids can eat the evidence when they are done!

Tips for a Successful Science Fair Project

  1. Pick a topic/question you are interested in
  2. Take lots and lots and lots of good measurements
  3. Don’t forget error
  4. Simple is better
  5. Write EVERYTHING down
  6. Follow the rules (www.ncsta.org/sciencefair)

See you all at the PDI next year!
