About Beth

I have been in science education for over 10 years, as a physics teacher, then outreach coordinator for The Science House at NC State University and most recently as a science educator at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute. I have also judged countless science fairs throughout the years.

Now I stay home and when I'm not working on science curriculum projects, serve as web master for science education organizations (NCSTA, NCSLA, NSELA, The Science House and the NC Science Fair).

These days I am finishing up my 5th book. This will be another science fair book that focuses on green science. Topics include alternative energies and other green technologies like CFL bulbs and xeriscaping along with investigations into the causes of global warming. Readers will be able to do a great science fair project AND help save the Earth at the same time!

My other hobbies, besides doing crazy science projects all over the house, are playing with my son Sam and my terrific husband, gardening, running, crafts and reading.
